Who Would Buy the Vizio E370VL 37” LCD:
Anyone looking for an affordable 37” 1080p Full HD LCD TV. Perfect for bedrooms, playrooms, apartments, and basements. I couldn’t find a better deal for a HDTV this size. The E370VL is the way to go.
E370VL Pros:
When I bought the E370VL a few weeks ago it took me only 5 minutes to set it up. Right out of the box the menu options were easy to navigate and the sound quality needed little tweaking. Generally you need a sound system to experience the full potential of LCD TV’s. Not so with the Vizio E370VL.
I have FiOS TV set-top box and I ran an HDMI cable to my new E370VL 37” LCD TV. The picture quality is outstanding. The colors are sharp and vibrant, and even with channels that do not broadcast in HDTV the picture is noticeably better than my other HDTV’s in my house.
The biggest concern I normally have with HDTV’s is the “stuttering” or artifacting, common with sports broadcasts and action movies. I saw none with the Vizio E370VL. That to me is usually the deal breaker when it comes to HDTV’s.
One nifty feature the E370VL offers is allowing you to name your inputs instead of dealing with the generic “Input 1”, “Input 2” etc. I can’t tell you how many times I switch to an input thinking it is going to be my blu-ray player and it ends up being my Playstation 3. Vizio E370VL makes your life a lot easier in this respect.
Sound quality is very good for an LCD TV. Let’s face it, most HDTV’s, and the E370VL is no exception, do not have superb sound out of the box. It usually takes a sound system or a few high powered speakers to give your TV that deep, rich sound you are familiar with at the movies. But for my money the sound on the E370VL is clearly better than most flat screens.
Some people love to manually set up their TV’s. Maybe you are one of them. If that is the case, the E370VL provides you with an endless amount of options. Color, contrast, size, sound etc. You could spend hours playing with all the menu options. I prefer the auto set-up and I also recommend this as well.
Overall you can’t beat the Vizio 37” LCD Model: E370VL. It is a great high def TV for a playroom, den, basement, or bedroom. You get the extra size for the price of a 32” HDTV. You can’t beat that in my opinion.
Vizio E370VL Cons:
I read someone else’s review for the Vizio E370VL and one of the gripes that guy had was the poor looking remote and the style of the TV. Well, if remote control aesthetics is your focus you may have more problems than finding an HDTV.
If you are a light sleeper and the TV will be in your bedroom then one of the features of the E370VL may bother you a bit. In my opinion it is a minor complaint but a valid one for some folks. When the TV is off the Vizio logo stays on. To me this is a none issue, especially for the price of this 37” TV.
The power button is in an odd spot and can be tough to get to. But how many of you plan on getting up off the couch to turn the TV on and off and not use your remote?
There is no HDMI side-port. This could be a nuisance if you have devices and peripherals you only plug in occasionally (camcorders, digital cameras). A solution to this is to plan ahead before you mount the TV on the wall or place it in a wall unit. Make sure to have the necessary cables pre-wired before you make the final placement of your E370VL TV.
I ran the component cables from the back of the TV, through my wall unit left it inside one of the wall unit cabinets before I installed the TV on the wall. I leave it coiled in the back of the cabinet. Just a few days ago my daughter wanted to watch her dance recital from our camcorder. All I had to do was plug the component cables coming from the E370VL into the back of the camcorder and she was all set.

I hope so. I own one. For 37” you can’t beat the price. It does everything you would expect from an LCD TV and the E370VL does it better than most. This is a flat out good buy.
